Sunday Favorites #5

"Sunday Favorites" is a Sunday meme designed by Chari @ Happy To Design to give bloggers a chance to share a favorite post from the past. Thanks for stopping by!

The instructions called for Jumbo olives for the body, and small olives for the head. Since I was just practicing, I used large olives for both the body and the head. Mary showed us how she made hers a while back, and perhaps the little fellas are listed on her blog.

All you need for this is jumbo olives, small olives, carrots and cream cheese. Cut a slit from top to bottom on the jumbo olive, and carefully insert about a teaspoon of creme cheese. Slice the carrot into 1/4" thick rounds, cut a small notch to form feet. Save the cut out piece for the beak and press into the small olive (the head). Secure with a toothpick. Give it a try....they are FUN! I plan on using them on my veggie platter and might also try a flavored cream cheese.

Thankyou for stopping by today!

  1. Cute, cute, cute.... I love these. Yours turned out beautifully, Debbie.

You did a great job of stuffing the cream cheese inside.

  4. Hi Debbie...

My friend, I'm so glad that you joined in with the fun of Sunday Favorites this week!

What a darling post...so perfect to reshare with all of us as these little olive penguins are charming!!! I'm thinking right now how much all of my grandkids would just go nuts over these cute little guys...they all love olives! They do the thing of putting one on each finger and eating them off...hehe!!! Shhheeshhh...table manners! My kids would have never gotten by with such crude behavior...hehe!!! But then it's an entirely different story when it comes to grandchildren! Hehe!!! Anyway...I will definitely be trying these cute little guys out!!! Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us!!!

I hope that you're having a blessed and safe Memorial Day weekend, my friend!

  9. Oh, my gosh, these are so cute! I am always amazed at the things people make and then let people EAT!
If I had gone to all the trouble to make those, I'd SMACK anyone who tried to eat one!
