Building a Snowman Tablescape

Inspiration for setting our weekly table for two is sometimes made easy.  I am joining Tablescape Thursday with Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. Thanks for hosting Susan!

Other times, I may head to Hobby Lobby and see if anything inspires me and I build my tablescape around that item.

Or take a hike, go to the lake, or head to the garden for inspiration.

Inspiration for this tablescape came to me instantly when a package arrived from my friend @ Marsha's Garden. Snowmen! Five cute snowmen! How I adore their twig arms and plump bodies!

I love this.....

I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.

"We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,"
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December.
~Oliver Herford

I love watching the cardinals at our bird feeder in winter. The bright red color looks stunning against the snow.

Next time I will plan better. I should have placed an order in advance for cardinal cookie cutters. But I found these cuties on a vendor's website (I can't recall which one).
Thank you for stopping by!

  2. Beautiful tablesetting. I love the "nearer to spring" poem and the cardinal bowls and sure wish I could attract the real things to my backyard like you do! Your Mackenzie Child pieces are so beautiful and versatile, they look wonderful with everything you pair them with. I like the plate under the bowl too.

    Great photos!
