Happy Birthday Pancakes!

Rachael Ray and I have something in common. We both like to cook and we have August birthdays!

I love the fun Birthday Pancakes that are in the August 2011 Issue of Everyday with Rachel Ray.

Birthday Pancakes

1 Box of Cake Mix

1 Can Frosting (or make your own)

Sprinkles (optional)

Prepare cake mix according to the directions on the box. Once cake is mixed add in 1 TB. of  sprinkles. Stir until combined.

Heat a skillet/griddle and coat with butter, margarine or non-stick spray.

Ladle the batter onto the heated griddle. Cook 2-3 minutes until bubbles start to form on top. Flip and cook an additional 2-3 mins.

Once all the pancakes are complete get ready to frost.

Remove cover and foil protector from your can of frosting and pop in the microwave to make pourable. Heat in 20 second intervals.

When the frosting is ready to pour, start stacking the pancakes, drizzling each layer with frosting and sprinkles. Cover the top pancake with frosting and finish with sprinkles and a candle!

Start singing, cut and serve! Add a scoop of ice cream if desired.

  1. What a fun, unusual and easy way to celebrate a birthday! Joni

  2. How did I ever finish my comment without wishing you a happy birthday! Did you make the cakes for your birthday? Joni

  3. I have seen these popping up everywhere lately - my favorite was made with yellow cake and each layer was colored in a vibrant color - they look easy and fun to make - and are on my list of things to do!!

  4. I can't wait to try one of these for Mack one day. He is still not into sweets of any kind.

  5. I think you will want to place a twitter button to your website. Just marked down this article, although I must complete this by hand. Just my suggestion.
