The house smells wonderful! With thanks to my sister, I have fragrant peonies in every room of the house. My sister Diane has the most amazing peony display each year, and I can't even tell you how many peony bushes she has. I'm guessing about 120? I was reading a magazine recently, and there was a sweet story about a woman who has a U-pick peony business. I'm going to encourage my sister to do that!
The table is set to celebrate! I used the same dishes and placemats that I used for Mother's Day and added peonies to the lions head soup bowls from Christmas Tree Shoppe.
Besides being so wonderfully fragrant, peonies are full of color. The cheerful mop heads make a stunning display on the table.
I love the white peonies as much as the pink ones. Since the peony season is so short, I picked another bunch of white peonies while they were in the soft "marshmallow" stage, and am storing them in the refrigerator for a few weeks until I want them to bloom. I love using peonies for a red, white and blue summer celebration.
The white also looks brilliant in a black and white vase.
Thank you for stopping by! I am joining Cuisine Kathleen for Let's Dish.

Debbie~ Those Peonies are cause for celebration! I can just imagine their wonderful fragrance and I love them presented in your bowls! If I was closer I would encourage your sister to have a u-pick business too! I missed our peonies blooming this year, they decided to bloom when we were out-of-town for ten days and when we returned we had 4 days of rain that did the remaining flowers in. Thanks for sharing your blooms with me :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the peonies.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! There's nothing like peonies. I didn't know that you could put them in the fridge to bloom later!
ReplyDeleteI would so visit your sister's place if she had a pick-your-peony patch! Their fragrance is so heady, I love it. I also enjoy seeing your MacKenzie Childs pieces. xo
ReplyDeleteThe peonies are gorgeous and make such a showy display, don't they? I sure miss them from PA and OH. We don't have them here in TX! Too bad for us, huh? Your table looks stunning, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. I think peonies are my favorite. I love their fragrance.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow...so pretty! I didn't know you could store peonies in the fridge to retard blooming. Hmmmm...I will have to try that! They are one of my very favorite flowers, and I just love the way they smell!!! I also love the way you put them in the bowls...very pretty! Enjoy!!!!!
ReplyDeletePeonies are so pretty.. just not in abundance around West Texas, so it's always a pleasure when they are shared! Your table is quite lovely.. have a great week, xo marlis
ReplyDeleteYour sister's yard must be beautiful with so many peony bushes! I was at a peony farm on Mother's Day and I just walked from bush to bush, speechless in wonder at the different types and colors! I love your white bowls and the dishes and would love to have peonies in every room. I posted my last ones of the season tonight too, but I don't have enough to put in the fridge for next month! My white bush did not come up this year and I don't know why. I will definitely plant another this fall. Linda
ReplyDeleteYes, the peonies are BEAUTIFUL, but in that black and white vase??!!! Gorgeous! I had peonies at another house that I had to leave when we moved, and they were my grandmother's. I'm so sad that I don't have them, that I might get up the nerve to knock on their door and ask them to let me take them or split them. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOooooh....so beautiful! Peonies are my favorite flower. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. I can almost smell them. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The table looks beautiful! I have peony envy! I have 4 plants and got 2 blooms. They are in the sun, so I don't know why they don't Bloom, I fed them.
ReplyDeleteThe mc vase with the whitenis stunning!

I can smell those beautiful peonies from here! Nothing smells better than peonies, in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous! My table this week was supposed to have pink peonies, but I missed them! I swear they only bloomed for a day this year!!! No mop heads for me! Anyway, yours are just gorgeous, and they really are the star attraction on any table, aren't they? The blue and white complement them well! Thank you for sharing your lovely peonies. I mean table. :)
ReplyDeleteMy peonies are still tight buds waiting for a few days of bright sunshine to bring them into full glory. I wish there was a way to have them last for weeks rather than days. Yours add beauty to a lovely table.
ReplyDeleteI think you probably already know which bouquet I like the best :) Your sister's peonies must look amazing in bloom with that many bushes! Great idea to have her try the U-Pick business. I adore them too and wish peony season lasted longer. My daughter had the most amazing peony bridal bouquet. The scent is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe peony are gorgeous! Of course I love the pink, but, the white display is stunning!

Oh, I can just imagine how fabulous it is to be in your home with all those fresh peonies. The idea of all those peonies growing in one yard is amazing. Love the idea of U-Pick business. I'd be first in line if I lived near by.
ReplyDeletePretty peonies! Do you know I just got my very first peony? I am a slow learner. It is very small and only has 2 blossoms on it - but I'm talking to it every day and hopeful for its future!
