There are so many interesting subjects to discuss in blogland, and this week we are sharing some photos of the lamps and lighting fixtures in our home. The blue and white lamp on my bedroom dresser is 12" tall and that includes the shade. There is something about this lamp (probably the size) that just makes me smile. I've had the lamp for 30 years.
Our home has four original sconces in the living room, and I enjoy switching out the shades two to three times a year. The fish shades were handmade by an artist on Martha's Vineyard about six years ago.
This stunning Tiffany lamp hangs over my kitchen sink. When we did a kitchen renovation six years ago, I wanted something with color and this has Plum, Jade and Amethyst, with matching streaks of Art Glass. Each piece of stained glass is hand cut and wrapped in copper foil. It has a mahogany bronze finish which complements everything in my kitchen. Made locally by Meyda Lighting.
This Meyda Tiffany lamp has a history of moving from room to room. The lamp stands 23" tall, and I love the stained glass hummingbirds. I'm thinking of selling it since I rarely use it anymore.
My final picture is of a lamp that I bought at Target a few weeks ago. I wanted a lamp for reading, and something sunshiney and fun for summer ;o). The foil Easter bunny will be going into storage tomorrow! Thank you to Alison at The Polohouse for hosting "Favorites on The First" where we will be discussing lamps and lighting. I already know that Alison has some amazing lamps at The Polohouse.
