Playing in the Garden and Some Good Country Living

We are having a lovely Spring, the garden is off to a good start.
For those who read Country Living magazine, they had a fair in Rhinebeck, NY which I attended this weekend. I think they said it is their third year in Rhinebeck, and they are happy with the location so will continue to have it at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds.

Cari Cucksey from HGTV's 'Cash and Cari' had a booth and was demonstrating her Re-Purpose Paint and Stain. She's a real sweetheart. It was fun to check out her repurposed pieces.

I fell in love with this potting bench.

Every piece of  furniture in this display was charming.

I attended a presentation on Table Settings and Props for Entertaining from HiHo.

We toured the Country Living 2014 Home, but weren't allowed to take pictures. It will be shown in the September issue of the magazine. This is a picture that I found that was taken this winter during the construction process.  The home created by Catskill Farms, is a "right-sized" home at 1,500 square feet, and is a "new old home" that captures the charm, beauty and character of the past.

The guest bedrooms was done in blue and yellow, with a white iron bed. Once it is published in Country Living Magazine in September. The beautiful sheets on the bed were from Anthropologie, and were eyelet embroidered. They went on my wish list.

In the kitchen, they used this Terracotta Triple Hanging Pendant, with shades of terracotta and white enamel inside. The frame is Antiqued brass, and is made by Country Gear in Bridgehampton, NY. It looked very nice in the home.

Fun idea for a spring dinner party from one of the booths at the fair.

The Hudson Valley Seed Library had a nice garden display, and their seed packaging was the best I have seen.

On our way out of the fair, we chatted with people about where we could have an early dinner before we headed home. A nice couple from Manhattan that have a second home in Rhinebeck suggested  Eveready Diner in Rhinebeck. I love diners, and the chicken portebello salad was wonderful!

Thank you for your visit. I am joining Fishtail Cottage for a Garden Party.

    1. The purple flower is Baptisia australis, commonly known as blue wild indigo or blue false indigo. I love your gardens!
