Summer Day in Aurora, NY

I love how this topiary was made. They put the plant container on top of a birch log. Our day was spent dream shopping at the annual barn sale at MacKenzie-Childs and this large flower pot was on my list but they didn't have any.

Joe has been to six barn sales with me, and is always patient and sociable (and he actually enjoys the barn sale as much as I do)

We were up at 3:45 a.m., left the house at 5:15, arrived at the barn sale at 7:20, got in line and were in the barn at 8:07. We were the first wave of customers for the day even with the longish line. We left the sale around 10:30, and the wait appeared to be about three hours. I always seem to end up with five bags! Two of the bags each held a large item which will go on display in the Fall. The rug you see by the door was also a barn sale treasure.

Loving this Parchment Check vase. Once I unpack the other bags, I will share ;o)
Thanks for stopping by!

    1. How frustrating to lose beloved plants due to Mother Nature. She can be so good to us at times.
I think I'll look at that first picture a lot this winter ;o)

  5. That photo of your so relaxed looking out over the pond with all of the people in line must have been after your shopping was over ;) Great pictures! I wish I loved closer. What fun it must be to shop the event.

  6. What fun and Joe is such a good sport! The topiary looks so pretty and what a great idea to use a birch log. I, too, loved the picture of you relaxing on the bench. The new rug would make me smile whenever I entered the door. I look forward to seeing what's on those bags, my friend!

  8. Since Texas is just too far away, I always enjoy seeing your goodies! Looks like fun. The on-line sales just don't give the same gratification. Thanks for sharing with us. xo

Too far away, tho, from Texas.
I know you had such a good time and bought so many goodies. Loving the Parchment, too.

I was good though and waited till they had them on sale on line... But boy could have used more!!! It looks was fun. And by the way, this popped up in my inbox this morning.. 2/26/16. Strange happenings on the web these days!
