"And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow." ~Jerry Chin
These Wellies from Mackenzie-Childs are just the cutest boots EVER. Just perfect for rainy days and gardening on this GREAT EARTH. If they have them at the Barn Sale this year, they may just have to hop into my cart.
When I think of the Earth, I think of bugs. And we have plenty of them at our camp in the Adirondack Mountains. Black fly season will be starting in May, and we will be swatting them until July. But there is also bug fabulosity, and I just adore these Cute bug cupcakes on Tastespotting. Check out these Earth Day treats on Cakestacks Blog.

The Earth provides nourishment for over 7 billion people everyday! The photos below are my humble attempt of capturing a little celebration we had on our vacation at the lake last week in anticipation of Earth Day 2012. In the company of squirrels, I created a table setting for our picnic lunch using the squirrel nut bowl that usually resides on the kitchen shelf in the camp. As the leaves were silently discussing when they may appear, I gently pulled some moss from a fallen tree in the woods for greenery and a centerpiece on our picnic table. The red tulips and pussy willow branches were leftover from Easter, and were placed next to the Adirondack pack basket that I made several years ago. I am joining Cuisine Kathleen for Let's Dish.

ReplyDeleteThe lady bug motif takes me back to my childhood. We used to sit in the Good Earth's grass and let them meander up and down our arms. They were never afraid of us...some of God's most special creatures. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
