Stamped Paper for Christmas Gift Wrap

I've always been a fan of  kraft paper, and using it to wrap gifts. There is plenty of inspiration on Pinterest using the kraft paper for gift wrapping.

I have an extensive rubber stamp collection,  but have never carved my own stamp. I found a tutorial for   carving a stamp on Poppytalk, and decided to give it a try.

I used Speedy-Cut to carve the image of the Buck. It cuts just like butter. A friend loaned me the craft knife that I used to carve, and it worked well.

I experimented with water based dye ink and next time, I am going to try pigment ink to see if I might like it better. I mounted my image on a wood block that Joe cut for me. This project was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Now everyone is getting their Christmas gift wrapped in buck paper ;o)

Thank you for stopping by. I am joining Seasonal Sundays.

Hello, I'm Debbie.I enjoy hiking, kayaking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the Adirondack Mountains (thus Mountain Breaths). I live in Upstate NY with my supportive husband and have three precious sons..

  1. Love your hand crafted stamped you did a fantastic job! I used to use craft wrap and stamp too. I would put the ribbon on the package then stamp designs around it. Hope your holiday is off to a great start, Laura

  2. I love your stamped paper, Debbie! You did a great job of cutting. Now I'm off to check out the tutorial......

  3. haha - Another thing we have in common (too many rubber stamps) I used to do this on white butcher paper - and the kids also loved to do it. You did a great job carving - and I know it isn't easy to do! I certainly is looking like Christmas at your house!!

  4. I like that paper...I have never tried stamping, nor am I artistic by any stretch of the imagination.

  5. Stunning really! Love it, and I know some men who would lovw the deer head.

  6. Wow, you did a fantastic job of carving the stamp. That's not an easy task. I think my favorite wrapping paper is kraft paper. I've never stamped it, but may have to take on this project for next Christmas. ;-)

  7. You did a great job, it makes a wonderful wrapping paper, so personalized!

I'm so happy you decided to stop by my blog. Please leave a comment as I enjoy hearing from each and every one of you!
