Sour Dough Bread Baking continues....and winter fun is coming to an end

Last summer I received sour dough starter from blog friends in the mail, and it has added smiles to our dinners, hikes, and friend's and family's tables. I have been educating myself and have added grains, made soft pretzels, and recently baked the bread in my cast iron enamelware. I used my Le Creuset two quart pan, and it produced a crunchy loaf of bread that we used for sandwiches for snowshoeing.
Spring is just around the corner, so I thought I would share my winter photos.. Growing up, we always enjoyed winter activities and as adults we still do. The photo below is of my siblings...John, Cheryl, Diane and me. I am the oldest, and Cheryl is the youngest. My sister Cheryl was four years old when she started riding on snowmobiles with our family.

Some of you may remember the moose that was a surprise birthday gift for Joe's 60tth from our very good friends. The moose now resides at our camp, and my sister suggested I have my photo taken with my tote bag.
Each winter, Joe has to remove the snow from the roof of the camp with the roof rake.

We participated in a few snowshoeing challenges. We completed the Tupper Lake Triad, and are still working on the Adirondack Firetower Challenge.

Looking forward to spring wildflowers!

Hello, I'm Debbie.I enjoy hiking, kayaking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the Adirondack Mountains (thus Mountain Breaths). I live in Upstate NY with my supportive husband and have three precious sons..

  1. Fantastic pics..and I love that winter doesn't get you down.Joe is very much like J in the maintenance dept:)I met our neighbour at IGA and they see what J does all winter etc..he said I can't believe what shape he's in.
    It's true:)

  2. I love how you embrace the snow Deb, and the owl capture is beautiful! I also admire your bread making skills, a true labor of love!

  3. Beautiful photos Deb. You look like your dad.

  4. We had almost the same amount of snow on our food! Thankfully, we have a young man helper who rakes the roof for us. Love all of your photos, especially the older one of you and your family! ♥

  5. You made a beautiful bread and it looks too pretty to eat. I enjoyed looking at those snow scenes.

  6. Your bread looks delicious. Paul would be in heaven. Love seeing all of that snow. Such a cute photo of you and your siblings. The moose is awesome.

  7. Serendipity keeps on giving!!
I loved seeing all your photos of you and your siblings. Such fun times! ❤️

I'm so happy you decided to stop by my blog. Please leave a comment as I enjoy hearing from each and every one of you!
