Art In Bloom

On Friday, we went to our local museum for a spring celebration exhibition of fine art and flowers featuring the Museum’s collection and stunning fresh-flower creations. There were fourteen floral arrangements on view throughout the Museum’s galleries. Each presented a creative interpretation of a work of art
While we were at the museum (Munson Williams Proctor Institute), we took a self guided tour and enjoyed the cobalt blue decorated stoneware. Historic pieces of early history. I was so fascinated that I took 100 photos, but here's just a few. They have an extensive collection of batter jugs, bean pots, crocks, churns, ice buckets, water coolers, match safe, humidors, vases, pitchers, steins, canteens, umbrella stands, cheese jar, punch bowl, whiskey dispenser and chicken waterers. I thought I would add this to my blog in case anyone visits Utica, NY and wants to visit this wonderful museum.

At home, we have Happy Hyacinths!
I  look  forward to our azalea bush blooming each spring!
Thanks for stopping by.

  8. The stoneware collection is just amazing. Reluctantly, I sold most of my blue collection when we downsized and moved from New England to Florida. What a memorable day that had to be along with the flower arrangements. Love it.
