September Already ♥

I'm holding onto summer in my heart. Despite all the recent weather events, we had a wonderful summer. We enjoyed traveling when we could, but most of all, we enjoyed being able to get together with family at our camp and my sister's beach house. I took a few photos in the garden, and can tell you I won't miss the extreme mosquito explosion due to the hurricanes. Our family gathering for my niece's wedding celebration in New Orleans for this weekend had to be cancelled due to the perils of the weather. Their destination wedding had to be postponed from last September, and thankfully they had a beautiful wedding with  just family at their California home last September.  If it all works out, we will gather with family in NYC in December. Fingers crossed big time.
And just like that, Xavier (my first born grandchild) started Kindergarten on Tuesday. Lucky kid, his mom is a first grade teacher in the same school :-) And his cousin (who is his best bud) also started kindergarten in the same school.
Don't be scared by this beautiful spider we have in our garden.. The spider is a female, five times larger than the male and more colorful than the male. A great predator for the insects we don't want in the garden which includes Japanese beetles.

The Sun Gold tomatoes did extremely well this summer, and is my favorite cherry tomato. Dancing with Smurfs joined for a photo op :-)
My sister rented a beach house for a week, and we joined them for a few hours after work. The sunsets and being on the water were a lot of fun for the kiddos and adults. This is my grand niece Lily and her grammy Sue.

Off to do some hiking this weekend, thanks for stopping by.

  2. We are holding onto summer here too, especially the temps. I love fall but it's hard to say good-by to summer. Your summer sounds busy but fun, spending time with family. Seems only yesterday you were welcoming Xavier, how time flies. He is such a darling little boy. Have a wonderful September Deb.......

  3. Xavier is a doll! We will have summer temps for at least another month, but I'm ready for pumpkins and apple cider. Glad you got to spend summer with family, that's the best!

  6. Great welcome to September and recap of some of the best of your summer. So sad your niece's big celebration had to be postponed yet again. Xavier is lucky to have his mom and cousin at the same school! That should be an easy adjustment. Wow, it seems like just yesterday he was born.
Hope you're having a great weekend.

  9. Love the sign :) I can't believe Xavier is in kindergarten already! That is so wonderful that his mom and cousin will be there too. I also can't believe our Mack is going to be 12 this weekend! It's been a great summer. Fingers crossed for a mild fall. ♥
