HALLOWEEN AT MOM'S

Mom and I have lost count, but we think she has carved approximately 125 pumpkins over the last seven years. I previously did a post on her pumpkins explaining that Mom uses the "carvable" foam pumpkins and Pumpkin Masters patterns. After she finishes carving the pumpkin, she traces around a quarter coin on the bottom back of the pumpkin and cuts a hole for the light. The trick or treaters and neighbors look forward to the display each year. Our local TV station also features them. This year she is having health issues, so we set them up in her three stall garage so we can sit in the garage to pass out candy and the kiddos can visit her and stay warm and dry. Halloween weather is very unpredictable in our area.

If you have a favorite, I'd love to know.

Mystery Ingredient: Creepy Halloween Fun

I accepted the offer from Rattlebridge Farm to participate in the second mystery ingredient challenge. Who knew how challenging it would be! When the mystery ingredient arrived, I paused and contemplated that I  may be sprinkle challenged. But I proceeded to my lab to see what I could come up with.

Our Mystery ingredient this month was Wilton Creepy Sprinkles Lab. My favorite sprinkle was the bones!

The Creepy Sprinkles include Bones, Black & Green Jimmies, Orange Sugar, and
Black, Green & Orange Jimmies. It wasn't until I visited one of my favorite blogs, Red Couch Recipes, that I was inspired on how to use the Creepy Sprinkles. I used a Mini Crumb Cake pan and made mini bricks. I melted milk chocolate, and drizzled it on the treat. Then added some creepy sprinkles, individually wrapped and tied with ribbon and a spider ring.

I haven't made Rice Krispie Treats in ages, and they were were well received when I shared them.

I did a quick Halloweenish table to display the treats. Thank you to the kind folks at Rattlebridge Farm for including me in this challenge!

Thank you for stopping by! I am joining Foodie Friday at Rattlebridge Farm.
