SEASONED JUST RIGHT...COME TO THE TABLE

What a gorgeous day it is here in Central New York. We attended our local St. Patrick's Day parade, and got very lucky with the weather. I recall back in the 90's, we had to drive through a blizzard to get home.
And I just prettied up one of my garden beds, and have three more to do. It felt good to play in the dirt.

Welcome to the 8th annual "Come to the Table" event. This is the fifth year I have attended the fundraising event for the Peacemaker Program, and the tables are designed by creative volunteers. The majority of the tables include service for eight. The Peacemaker Program provides a continuum of services including skill development, dispute resolution programs and child advocacy services through the use of carefully trained volunteers. A great cause! These tables need no further introduction. I know you will enjoy them, and perhaps you can try to pick a favorite.

Come To The Table 2011

Over the weekend I attended a charity event, "Come to the Table", to benefit the local Peacemaker Program. The table settings and decor were donated by their designers and sponsors, and were available for bid or outright purchase throughout the event. The peacemaker program is actively engaged in the prevention of child abuse.

I love these glass nutcracker candleholders, and I'll start with one of my favorite table designs created by my son Bryon's girlfriend (Alissa) and her mom. They did an outstanding job, and I love the theme "Nutcracker Sweets". Alissa took ballet lessons throughout her childhood, and was in the local production of the Nutcracker. Thus the perfect theme for their table.

This was titled "Occasionally You Need a Table". I loved the display.

Make Time For Friends...cute idea using watches for napkin rings.

A Passion For Picnics...Vera Bradley items....love the buggy napkin ring.

Make Peace....those peace signs remind me of my younger days :-)

See the snake and the bugs? This table was designed by a ten year old boy, and it is called Meadow Lunch. One of my future posts will be a meadow lunch (I used to call it a picnic lunch until I fell in love with meadow lunch)
