Philadelphia Garden Show - "The Sights"

Italian market in the "Little Italy" section of Philly.

Narrow street in Little Italy

Happy St. Patrick's day to my Irish friends!

Benjamin Franklin's passage

Bassett Ice Cream at Reading Terminal Market

Reading Terminal Market has everything....

What Philly is famous for...

Reading Terminal

Of course, we had to go to the Love Park :-)

Rocky steps

For my foodie pals......we had a little party on the bus, with olives and cheese. We met a nice man in Little Italy who invited us to sample some olive oil. I miss this area already! It was a foodie haven.

One of my favorites on the trip was the Reading Terminal Market. I could have moved in! Any kind of food you can think of is in there. From fresh seafood to every kind of cheese you could imagine, vegetables, meats, chicken, pork, many kinds of sausages. As soon as we walked through the door at the Reading market, there were Amish baked goods. I bought some pecan sticky buns to bring to my office mates, and I defintely scored points!

Philadelphia Flower Show - Part 8 - Caesar

A dog shelter roof for Caesar! Check out the huge dog bone that Caesar buried, and the fire hydrant. He even buried a pink sandal!

Here is the list of plants they used

Philadelphia Garden Show - Part 7 - Venice

I don't think the Venice exhibit needs an explantion. I was mesmerized by this display. Have you been to Venice?

Venice is on our list of places to visit within the next few years, and after seeing the display of the Venetian canal, I can understand why it is cited as one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Philadelphia Flower Show - Part 6 - Arches, Urns and Statues

Envision being in Italy, passing under the towering arches that evoke the Roman Coliseum. The flower show was so romantic-minded, and used a lot of pink and white Bougainvillea. I can only imagine the hard work that went in this show.

The theme is different each year, 2008 was a Mardi Gras theme, and 2007 an Irish theme.

Philadelphia Flower Show - Part 4 - Front Porches and Window Boxes

The flower show had wonderful porches and window boxes. Can you pick a favorite?
