Christmas Tablescape #1

Our large dining room has an inviting, warm glow but sometimes I prefer brighter lighting for photography purposes. Our sun porch was converted many years ago into a family room and has eight large windows and two skylights that provide wonderful lighting. So, today my tablescape is set up in the sun porch. Once I photographed the tablescape, I used the place settings for dinners throughout the week.  All I need to do is grab the tablesetting and bring it to the kitchen island where we have most of our dinners during the week.

I experimented by using tall candlesticks as candlelight is a must.

And experimented with tealight holders. I switched them out for two of our dinners this week.

Have you tried the Turkey Hill pomegranate lemonade? It's a big hit in our household, and our guests have enjoyed it with a splash of huckleberry vodka and a few pomegranate seeds.
Oops, you can see the garage in the background :-)

During the holiday season, most everything in our home gets the festive touch including the lighting fixture in our dining room. If you have a similar lighting fixture, you may like to give it a quick makeover for the holidays.

I started with some tissue paper from a purchase made at Mackenzie-Childs. The tissue paper was used to
decorate the candle sleeve  on the light fixture in the dining room.

The light fixture has the basic ivory color sleeves. I just took one off and measured the paper to fit around it. Then I took a little Elmer's glue, and just dabbed it on the edge. When I am done with the decorative sleeve, I will remove it. I ordered some extra ivory color sleeves, so I can decorate for some of the other holidays.

I added red shades for the Christmas season.  Next week I'll show how the light fixture now coordinates with my Christmas Tablescape #2 for our upcoming holiday dinner party.

I'm also joining  The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sundays.

Thank you for stopping by! Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season filled with peace and joy!

oh so sweet things

Perhaps when I retire, the nice folks at Mackenzie Childs will hire me to be their gardener. Being surrounded by their beautiful pottery and gardens, would lift me up every day.

While I was at the Mackenzie Childs barn sale on Saturday, they had something for everyone. My dog Kiki might enjoy sniffing this perch :-) I know she wouldn't sit on it. But she sure would look sweet if she did.

I would love to know a young girl who sleeps in a bed like this...I would ask her if she feels like a princess.

The view from the barn sale is very inviting.

I should have bought the Courtly Check grill which is a new item this year.

The birdies in my backyard deserve a new bird house...whatcha think? I've been admiring the birdhouses for a while, and I got a great deal.

This is Joe's purchase, he insisted I needed it.

So, I made Chicken Marsala just to show my appreciation :-)

Thank you for stopping by!
