Traveling Tote Through The Seasons

Miss Aurora is one lucky tote and if she could talk she would have plenty of stories to tell. No matter where she goes, she has a lot of fun. We have a new member of the Traveling Tote group and are honored that Emily from The French Hutch has joined us. I put together these collages for Emily (and you) so you can see what adventures Miss Aurora and Miss Bella have been on.

We just got back from Key West where Miss Aurora and Miss Bella enjoyed some Winter Therapy.

When we were in Key West we took a seaplane to the Dry Tortugas National Park. If you've never been there, I highly recommend it.
My non-blogger friends did some traveling with their totes and shared a few photos from their adventures. Colleen with Miss MacKenzie Joy traveled to Maine with a stop in Bethel and Peaks Island. Her final destination was the Pomegranate Inn, an Arty and eclectic boutique Portland Maine inn with an exceptional art collection.
Tami with Miss MC la Mer traveled to Lake Winnebago in Menesha, Wisconsin for a Girls Getaway, went "Stitching" with the girls and went Outlet Shopping with the cousins!

GIVEAWAY.....GIVEAWAY.....GIVEWAY!!
If you would like to be included in a giveaway, leave Rita C @ Panoply a comment (either directly on her blog or by sending her an email mentioning this post) for a chance to win a MacKenzie-Childs Sticky Note Pad and Set of 3 Courtly Check Enamel Herb Pots. Both are just in time for your Spring planning and planting (or for stashing pens & pencils, utensils - you decide)!

Key West and the Beautiful Blue Morpho

Water truly defines the Florida Keys, and we always enjoy a visit to this watery wonderland. Each evening is a celebration to marvel at the sun's descent into the Gulf of Mexico.

We visited the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservancy and saw some beautiful winged creatures. Here the Blue Morphos are dining on a fruit platter.

We saw an impressive collection of flowers, birds, cascading waterfalls and trees.

This little guy was being so cooperative so I could photograph him.

Who doesn't enjoy watching a Flamingo.

It sure felt good to have wings and warmth. The lower the latitude, the better my attitude ;o)

The tropical flowers at our hotel were bursting with blooms.

Of course we had to bring some food items home with us. Joe bought some small-batch honey and sea salt and we are having a taste of the Keys at home this week.

This is what all tourists do.

I spotted this bike and have named it " The Keys"

Back to reality. Thank you for stopping by!

Key West and Bougainvillea

In February, we try to get away to a warmer climate while Joe is on school break. Our mode of transportation while in Key West is walking, and the Bougainvillea was showing up everywhere with great bursts of color.

The flower is small and white. The colorful leaves feel like paper if you rub one between your fingers.

The branches are long and woody, and they can grow up to 40 feet high. I've seen them at the nurseries here in New York, but they are small due to our short growing season.

I'm still going through the many photos that we took in Key West, so feel free to stop by later in the week for my next post.

Thank you for stopping by!

"Keys" To Warm Up

It was chilly in Key West for our first two days. Still very nice compared to our frigid New York winter.

We toured the Hemingway home and museum, and I took the photo of the lighthouse from the second floor porch.

I will miss our evening dips in the pool ;o)

Sunsets in Key West are celebrated every evening.

I loved the homes and their architecture.

Each morning, we were awakened at 6:15 a.m. by this guy. They are everywhere in Key West. It wasn't a huge issue since we were in paradise.

We were lucky as the majority of the week was sunshine and 80. As soon as I get caught up from being away, I'll be back to blogging ;o)

Thank you for stopping by!
