Mom uses the "carvable" foam pumpkins and Pumpkin Masters patterns. After she finishes carving the pumpkin, she traces around a quarter coin on the bottom back of the pumpkin and cuts a hole for the light.
The trick or treaters look forward to the display each year, and people come from all over to see them. Again today, our local TV station featured them :-)
You only carve once and several of her pumpkins are over seven years old. I think it's safe to say that my creative mama loves Halloween. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Halloween to you and yours.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comments! I just edited my original post -- I forgot to include that the pumpkins are actually made of foam and are carveable.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, what a wonderful post. You have a very, creative and talented mother. I bet she was thrilled that you and your sister set up the display for her. I hope that she has a chance to see this post.
ReplyDeleteHas she done one of Kiki? ... I hope to see more of her special pumpkins next year. :)
Your mom is very talented in making these beautiful pumpkins. I spy a pretty cool owl :) She must have lots of storage room.

My favorites are the witch and broom and the owl but they are all absolutely wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love surfing through posts and especially on Tablescape Thursday. Every now and then I stumble onto a blogger who really sparks my interest. The first thing I saw is the sunflower plate in your header. I have the same set - which I designed my whole kitchen around. Secondly I see this post about pumpkins and your mom. I think I have carved everyone of those designs. I love fall, pumpkins and all that goes with it. I grow a big patch of pumpkins and have kids of all ages come in and pick that special one at no cost to them. We host a big family pumpkin carving party. So wonderful to have found your blog.
