McVities biscuits, PG Tips, scones with English clotted cream and assorted jams for the Big Day. Instead of ringside in Westminster Abbey, we'll rise at 4 a.m. for breakfast tea for two and view the wedding of the prince and princess-to-be on television. No big deal for us since we get up at
5 a.m. every day for work. We won't be sleep deprived.
A tray makes our breakfast tea perfectly portable. (We'll be in our pajamas watching the Prince William and Kate Middleton nuptials.) The coffee pot has a timer and will start brewing at 4:00 a.m., so all we have to do is wake up when we smell the coffee!
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
When my husband was in the Peace Corps in Montserrat, he purchased a booklet of stamps that were designed to mark the occasion of the Royal Wedding of H. R. H. The Prince of Wales to Lady Diana Spencer. The designs were based upon Royal Yachts from the mid-seventeenth century to the present day. He has always had a special place in his heart for Princess Diana ;o)

Wow, Debbie! You've got it all scoped out for us. I'm just now beginning to get excited about THE wedding. Guess I've missed all the buildup, but seeing Joan Lunden interviewed on Fox News this morning got me thinking that "yes", it will be worth the rise. What fun!!
ReplyDeleteHave a super week.

Your tea tray looks perfect, Debbie! I was recently in Northern Ireland and everyone was all abuzz about the Royal Wedding, The entire UK has the day off! Prince William was born around the time my daughter was born, so I've always taken an interest in him and wish him a wonderful marriage.

How fun! This looks like a charming wedding breakfast. My husband just rolls his eyes everytime something is said about the Royal Wedding. He's not an early riser either -- I'll just try to catch a few snipits before work with my "english" muffin and coffee.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the listing...I was trying to decide which station to watch but was alreading leaning toward BBC!
What a great idea to have your tray ready for the festivities! Great goodies...where do you get your British products? My husband is from England and orders from the internet.
I remember getting up early for Diana & Charles. Gotta hit the hay early tonight!!!
Have fun watching...can't wait to see her dress!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking up.
Thanks for the breakdown on the wedding festivities. I figured that I could see it tomorrow morning when all the networks spend the day playing the ceremony over and over again. I love that you all will share a cup of tea and enjoy it together. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and cozy way to celebrate the wedding. Didn't see it I go to bed at eight. Need my beauty sleep lol.

Hi Home from work and enjoying some tea watching the replay and reading you lovely blog. Very nice. sunny109
ReplyDeleteI watched it every bit...but I recorded the event and watched it the next morning.:) Loved every single minute of it. They are the most adorable couple and I wish them much more happiness than Will's mom and dad had.
ReplyDeleteMe, too, on the burlap wrapped plants for Mother's Day. My little mom is spending her Mother's Day, walking with Jesus..but I always give daughter and daughter in law something just to say what good moms they are. :))
