I ADORE little pies! The Breville mini pie maker has been on my wish list for the last year, so when I found out about a three day sale at Williams-Sonoma, I just couldn't pass it up for $49.95. When I placed the order, I chatted with customer service for almost 20 minutes. She was very passionate about it and wanted to share her experience with me.
Our very first pies were cherry because cherry is our favorite. Mini egg breakfast pies are next on the list. I'm thinking with summer just around the corner, mini savory pies with a side salad will make nice summer meals.

In the instruction book, they recommend using either a pie crust or puff pasty. We've tried them both ways, and prefer the puffed pastry.
It's a sturdy, easy to clean machine. I bake for my mom and next door neighbor on a regular basis, so this will make it so simple. Who doesn't love a little pie? Having a jar of pie filling makes it even easier. Takes about 10 minutes to bake (not including 5 minutes prep time). Clean up is a breeze...just wipe.
I am joining the Cozy Home Party and Foodie Friday. Thanks for stopping by!

Ah, you made them already! After your heads up on the sale I had such good intentions but didn't make anything yet. I will make the breakfast egg pies this week. Your cherry pies look great. I'll get some puff pastry. Did you make your own pie dough? I have store bought.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I've only used the store bought pie dough so far. Did not care for the taste :-( I'm making my own next time or will happily use the puff pastry which we loved.
DeleteI have never seen this (however I don't eat pies = haha) but it looks like you will certainly enjoy it! I have a funny story for you: Last week while on Cape Cod, I bought 1 yd of M-C checked ribbon to use for Xmas stockings...I got home and it looked a bit short. The girl measured 33" and I was furious (at $10.00 yd). So, I emailed the store to tell them about it...they gave me a store credit! It's only a 5 1/2 hour drive to use it - haha
ReplyDeleteThis is a new gadget for me--might just have to order one--so adorable, Debbie! Thinking mini cherry pies for the 4th of July...
ReplyDeleteI love the pie maker... I don't make pies that much...but might with that! It is just so cute, you have to have it!
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful!!!! I saw something similar at Williams Sonoma too, they have the nicest little appliances! These are so cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteYum!! They look fun to experiment with too. I think i need one...lol
ReplyDeleteOh yum and I have just the tablescape! Heehee!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine the fun you're going to have making pies now. Enjoy!
I would love to have one of those!!! I love pie, but I don't like to make big ones anymore because they just go to waste after a couple of pieces. I'll be on the lookout for the next time they go on sale. That would be the perfect solution to at least one meal each week as well as dessert whenever I want it!!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, My pantry and cabinets are at maximum capacity but I'm regretting passing on that WS pie maker when I saw that price a couple of weeks ago! I love the idea of little savory pies too :)
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I think that pie maker is a wonderful invention! I love pies but do not enjoy the trouble of making them. This would be a big help with that problem. I bet you will have fun creating a variety of pies. Thanks sharing this at the party.--------- Shannon
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new toy, Debbie! That is so sweet of you to bake for your mom and neighbor. Those little pies look delicious.

They look great! I think you are on to something about the taste of the store bought dough. When I read the reviews several people said they didn't work well in the pie baker.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new toy!
