Number three son requested the Star S'mores that he found on the cover of the Martha Stewart Living magazine you see in the photo. July 2012 issue. We planned on making the s'mores for the July Fourth holiday but never got around to it. The recipe can be found here. Star S'mores I substituted organic wheat bran for wheat germ, and was happy with the results.
We all gave these s'mores five stars. The homemade cookie part is so much better than the graham crackers that we typically use for our s'mores. A little more time consuming, but worth it. Homemade marshmallows would have been nice, but I haven't made them in a few years.
Thank you for stopping by! I am joining Foodie Friday at Rattlebridge Farm and Seasonal Sunday.

We are Adirondack 46ers, which is an organization of hikers who have climbed all forty-six of the traditionally recognized High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. We are referred to as 46ers. We completed the 46 peaks on August 26, 2000. Click our picture for more information.

Debbie, these look delicious. We had s'mores last summer on our trip to Maine ~ built a bonfire on the beach at our friend's summer home and indulged. Took me back to my childhood and camping on the beach along the Gulf Coast. Will have to send this recipe to our friends. ;-)

PS
Your plate is prettier than the one featured on the magazine cover. ;-)
Thank you Sarah! They are my camp plates :-)
DeleteYum, these look sooo good. I am not a huge fan of smores, but these look yummy. Excellent execution. Joni
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of s'mores either, because I don't like the graham cracker. The only way I would ever eat a graham cracker as a child, was to dunk it in milk. These s'mores are over the top with the homemade cookie!
DeleteThese are so cute...and I am sure they are tastier than an ol' graham cracker!...Now, do you think you can make them checkered?
ReplyDeletePatti, wouldn't that be the perfect s'more! I'll have to give it some thought.
DeleteOh Debbie, I LOVE s'mores! I can't wait to try these. I had my hubby buy some Marsala so I can make the Chicken Marsala that you shared.
ReplyDeleteIf you love s'mores, these are over the top! The chicken marsala is one of our favorite chicken dishes. Let me know :-)
DeleteWe love smores when we go camping, I just showed my five year old grandson your star smores and he thought they looked pretty good.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever have the time, you won't regret making them!
DeleteThey look fantastic, Debbie!
ReplyDeleteOh I bet the homemade cookie made all the difference! They look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt made a big difference. The only time I ever ate graham crackers was to dip them in milk when I was a kid.
DeleteThey would be so much better with the cookies.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit.
