Joe and I enjoyed his "Spring Break" and did some antiquing, cheese tasting, gardening, hiking and prepared for our dinner party on Saturday. When I was planning our dinner party, we were more than ready for bright and sunny days, and the color of this lemon tart is what lured me in. Plus, it has a chocolate-almond crust which is right up my alley. The inspiration came from Savoring Time In The Kitchen, and you can also find the recipe on the Food and Wine website.
I was the April hostess for our dinner group. "Stepping Into Spring" was my theme, and I had birds nests, pussy willows and yellow pansies everywhere in the house. Before I assigned this recipe to my friend Gwen, I made the tart and asked my husband, mom, brother and neighbor to sample it. It received positive reviews. At the dinner party, we served Gwen's tart with whipped cream and some lemon zest instead of the chocolate curls.
