Touch o' the Irish since everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day.
I was the lucky one to receive the traveling Irish topper! If you don't know the history of this vintage cloth full of shamrocks and Celtic knots, Marigene @ In the Middle of Nowhere first sent it to Kathleen @ Cuisine Kathleen (founder of the Annual Blog Crawl) with the stipulation that it be passed on to another blogger for the following year. Kathleen passed it along to Rett@ The Gazebo House, who then sent it on to Mary @ Home is Where The Boat Is. Mary sent it to Sarah @ Hyacinths for the Soul, who then sent it on to Kitty @ Kitty's Kozy Kitchen. Only the leprechauns know where it goes next year! Watch your mailbox since it will be mailed soon.
So I headed to the Dollar Store for some green hats, and changed the ribbon to coordinate with my dishes. We're ordering corned beef and cabbage dinners from our favorite deli for St. Patty's Day. I'll do anything to get out of cooking cabbage in my house.
St. Patrick was not from Ireland, but went there even after being a slave there and lived out his life helping the people and bringing them to Christ. He is considered adopted Irish. He established 165 Christian churches, and a school with each to help teach the people of Ireland to read, to write, to preserve their history, and more. His works, such as his driving out the snakes and toads into the sea, were said to help free the people of Ireland from oppression, and give them much of the luck they are remembered for.
These Hershey Kiss Shamrocks may just be one of the easiest crafts you'll ever do! I used a bag of Easter kisses which consisted of green, pink and blue. The candy is hot glued together and the stems are yarn (I used a green cord handle from a gift bag I had).
Oh look, a bunny hopped onto to the table. More about that bunny next week.

Looks like you're all set for St. Patty's Day, love the fun champagne glasses:@)
ReplyDeleteDebbie, You are going to be quite dapper in your hats decked out in CC ribbon, sipping champagne in those beautiful glasses, and dining from these beautiful dishes. And the most clever bit I think is the CC addition to your treble clef flatware!! I have been following this shamrock topper from the beginning when Kathleen first displayed it and I'm always curious to see where it will go next. You have set a beautiful table with it! Luck 'o the Irish to you and your family! Linda
ReplyDeleteDebbie, that is a super St. Patrick's day display! The shamrock kisses are great. Of course I love all the MC. Your newest bunny addition is irresistible!
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten about the shamrock topper and Cuisine Kathleen's fun parties! Your table is over the top St. Pat's cute! All your Courtly Check is so perfect with the bright green and that bunny, wow!! The only way I'll eat corned beef is in a grilled reuben sandwich :) St. Pat's day is one of our favorite holidays, it is my granddaughter's birthday! How smart to look for things in the $ store!
ReplyDeleteJenna

ReplyDeleteAdorable setting - I love your leprechaun sitting on the candlestick - so cute! We'll be at Coleman's!
ReplyDeleteTop of the mornin' to you, Debbie! Your table looks great. Love the story about the vintage cloth. I hope that you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteWow Debbie, your table looks so festive with the topper and your pretty dishes. Courtly Check just coordinates with everything, doesn't it? I'm so admiring your bunny that's paying your St. Patrick's Day table a visit. I'm looking forward to who receives the traveling cloth next. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThat is just so cute and your table scape is awesome. My baby brother was born on St. Paddy's Day so it's always been extra special to me. Thanks for stopping by and good luck with your new blog design.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, you did a fantastic job spotlighting the Traveling Shamrock Cloth. I think Kitty hit it out of the ball park sending the cloth on to you. I love the way the CC looks with the green. Absolutely stunning in my opinion. The champagne flutes are gorgeous. I many need to get a pair of these. Thanks for sharing. It will be fun to see who receives the traveling cloth next year. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. I've seen that tablecloth travel from place to place now for some years. You guys have had a lot of fun with it. The Courtly Check looks so cute mixed with the St. Patricks day accents. I think we'll go out for dinner on St. Patrick's day because whenever I've made a corned beef and cabbage meal it ends up being too much leftovers for us.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, your table is adorable. We must be on the same page as far as thinking. Of course I do not have any MacKenzie Child dishware as of yet, But I hope to add some to my dish collection soon. I just created a St. Paddy's tablescape with black and white with green and hats. I haven't posted it yet. Very sweet tradition of the Traveling Shamrock cloth. Your table is adorable and i do love the kisses.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say, thank you for sharing your lovely table at DI&DI. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYour CC collection looks great on the shamrock cloth, Debbie. That rabbit is adorable!
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the week.
You did the topper proud, Debbie! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous table Debbie, those dishes are exquisite!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I love your table and I'd recognize that little leprechaun anywhere. ;) You did the topper proud and I love your Courtly Check paired with green for St. Paddy's Day. Those M-C flutes and bunny are definitely worth celebrating!
