Here I am envisioning what I would carry in my tote to the Girlfriends Luxury Getaway at the Equinox Resort and Spa in Manchester, VT. Joe and I enjoyed shopping at the designer outlets on his Spring Break in April.

Cayuga Lake Wine and Herb Festival - Drink. Eat. Garden. Repeat
Sharing some herb trivia... did you know that Basil is sometimes called "Kiss-Me-Nicholas" in various parts of the Italy where it is considered a token of love. A girl wearing a sprig of basil suggests her beau need not keep his distance.
I love Parsley Spread - 1 bunch of parsley (chop it fine and dry well - use leaves only)
Mayo - sufficient quantity to make it spreadable
Grated onion - very little (about 1 tsp)
Use with crackers or on a chicken sandwich
Each winery we visited gave us an herb or vegetable plant. They have all been planted and I hope to share my bounty this summer.
I would be remiss if I didn't show you this picture of my sister Diane. This was not planned but thanks to Mr. Mountain Breaths keen eye he made the black and white connection while we were standing in the parking lot chatting.
Miss Aurora loved toting goodies for our little Easter bunny. Xavier turned one in March.

Thanks for stopping by to visit the crazy tote ladies! xxoo Deb
Debbie, you and the "girls" do get around! I certainly envy your excursions. Every place looks like a beautiful and charming destination. So enjoyed your photos and great mosaics. Happy Summer Travels!
ReplyDeleteOhmygosh, Debbie, I love this! Your 'family portrait' is the best, and Joe is so clever! Now I'm not sure which of you is the creative genius behind so many of these wonderful photo opportunities, but each one is stellar, not to mention the experience behind each one! And what I wouldn't do to be part of that girlfriends luxury getaway you participated in. The Sugar Shack.....{smile}...that was one of my sisters and her husband's song from back in the '60s. Great adventures, Miss Aurora and Miss MC la Mer! XO
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Debbie. My Sis stayed at the Equinox last year and just loved it. I'm dying to spend some time in Vermont. Now that I read your post, I'm even more excited about it. As you said, your girls really get around. Cute pic of you and your Sis.
ReplyDeleteKudos to your hubby for picking up the black and white theme. Also, so jealous that you have the MC pedestal table!'s Thanks for taking me along on your adventures!
Debbie, Your "family portrait" is wonderful! Such a beautiful family too! :) I would love a girlfriend weekend at the Equinox, along with a bit of shopping. It sounds like Joe is a good helper on your tote outings, just like my hubby who is always asking if Miss Rosie needs a day out. I wish I could pluck a piece of fruit right through the screen and have it with a slice of one of your rhubarb breads. I can't believe Xavier is already a year old! It must be a delight to have him nearby. Linda
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you, Joe and "the girls" have, Debbie! I'm wishing I could tag along and enjoy all those spots that you visited. What a cute photo of you and your sister that Joe took. I'll bet you and the girls will next be having some summer fun. xo
