This year for the MacKenzie-Childs barn sale, they have a four day celebration of dressing to express love for the brand with #BarnSaleStyle. I'll do my best to dress in checks the first day of the Barn Sale, Thursday, July 18. For those of you who know me well, I am a friendly competitor and enjoy a fun challenge. We won the "Skip the Line" challenge on Instagram. I'll be posting photos frequently on Instagram. It's the fastest way to share the fun stuff from the barn sale. This is the photo I submitted for the category "MC on the Go".
Twenty five years ago, my co-workers happened upon MacKenzie-Childs in Aurora, NY (Finger Lakes region of New York). I had never heard of it. Enthusiastically, they would tell us about their purchases, most of which were seconds at reduced prices that they bought from Richard and Victoria MacKenzie-Childs.

As you probably know, my favorite pattern is the "black and white checks". Courtly Check got its start more than 30 years ago and in 1995 it was featured on the enamelware in the Camp MacKenzie-Childs collection, which was designed for casual outdoor use and glamping. The enamelware was called Roasted Marshmallow because mixed in with the overall black and white check were subtle hints of additional colors that resembled the caramelized sugar on marshmallows toasted over an open fire. A few years later, the pattern was renamed Courtly Check after an editor referred to MacKenzie-Childs as “the court jester of tabletop.”
Can't wait to show you my purchases! You probably think by now I have everything. LOL
Photos from the Barn Sale 2018. This year will be even hotter!

Have a ball!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I'm eager to see what you select to wear on Thursday morning as you are among the first shoppers to cross the entrance. I hope Joe can get some good shots to share. I'm sure he'll make a fun video! Honestly, I'm as excited for you as I was last year about getting to attend the Barn Sale myself. I hope you have nice weather to enjoy being out and about on the farm. No question it will be a fun day, and I suspect there will be lots of bags full of fun new things going home with you. Enjoy the honor of Skipping the Line and have a fabulous day in Aurora!
ReplyDeleteMuch-deserved ticket with your photo entry to skip the line! Go, girl!
ReplyDeleteSo thrilled for you to "Skip the Line" as you make you way to the sale. Have fun and I'm sure you will be dressed like a doll for the fun occasion. Fun times..........
