My amazing 60th Birthday continues! The "Scoots" (BFF group) surprised me with a birthday destination celebration,
Joe drove me to the destination (he offered so the gals could get everything ready), and his first stop was our camp
so I could pick up clues. Imagine my surprise when I walked into camp
and saw these sweet clues sitting
in a little blue pick up truck.

After reading clue #1, we were on the road.
The first stop was the Thendara train station and Adirondack Scenic Railroad which is only a few miles from our camp. All I knew was that we were heading "north" which meant "the mountains".
Clue #2 was "If you are feeling blue, stop and sit for a while in the Adirondack chairs and enjoy the view".
We stopped at Blue Mountain Lake for this wonderful photo.
Clue #3 was "Go Wild for Awhile", and the answer was Tupper Lake
which is home to the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks.

Clue # 4 was "round and round and round you go, and where you stop, no one knows. You can ride a beaver, rabbit, fish, racoon, bald eagle or a loon".
The answer was Adirondack Carousel in Saranac Lake. I chose to ride on the loon.

Clue #5 was "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, I have been ranked the
#2 most beautiful place of all."
The answer was Lake Placid/Mirror Lake Inn and one of my favorite places
to vacation and shop.
Upon arrival......Clue #6 "I am at the top of the Earth and the end of Earth's axis." The answer was Santa's Workshop (North Pole) in Wilmington, NY. This was where I met my creative group of friends, and had a great weekend. There were wearing "Debbie" faces.
I was whisked away to a Glamping Tent that was decorated by my friends.
I forgot to take a photo of my bedroom....but does it look like I had to sacrifice anything? I had a queen size bed with four pillows.
I slept like a queen!
All meals were prepared for me, and I wasn't allowed to watch them set up or lift a finger.
There are two Scoots missing from the collage above. Paula and Me. Paula was busy sneaking into the Hungry Trout Restaurant finalizing plans for dining alfresco, and then we forgot to take a photo of her.
Here we are taking a photo of the osprey that landed on a tree on the Ausable River. A very nice fly fisherman offered to take our photo.
Glamping is essentially camping with creature comforts. I am the baby of our group, so no more 60th birthday parties. Boo Hoo.
