This and That in October

When our two year old grandson Quinn visited, guess which pumpkin he wanted to hold? If you guessed the pink one, you are correct. He loved it. The mums were just starting to bloom when I took the first photo.
Here are the mums blooming like crazy. I got lucky this year and bought them from a fund raiser. I ordered six total, and the two purple ones on my front porch are ginormous! I think every neighbor has stopped to ask where I got them.
Our sweet granddaughter Claire was baptized on October 11 at Our Lady Of Lourdes Church which is five minutes from our home. Only immediate family members were allowed to attend, and they did a Zoom for those who were not able to attend. I am sure by the time she makes her first communion, things will thankfully be much different. She slept through the entire baptism. We will start watching her one day a week when mom returns to work.
Apple crisp is always a big hit in our household.
I make a small Concord Grape pie each year with organic grapes from the farm.
I had to ask Xavier what his costume was. LOL  It is Paw Patrol. I have never been good at figuring out Halloween costumes. I'm going to be a witch this year, and Joe will be Sasquatch.
We managed to get photos of all three grandchildren...Xavier 4, Quinn 2 and Claire is two months.

We are setting a table outdoors by the front door this Halloween, and there will be treat bags for the kids that come. We won't have our usual 150, but maybe we will have 20 ?? I've set the table for the two of us which is a dry run for my Halloween party next year. In 2019, I planned to host a witches' gathering in the forest at my camp in 2020 but that's not happening now
Thank you for your visit! Happy Halloween my lovelies!

Hello, I'm Debbie.I enjoy hiking, kayaking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the Adirondack Mountains (thus Mountain Breaths). I live in Upstate NY with my supportive husband and have three precious sons..

  1. Cuteness overload! Sweet Claire seems like a happy baby, sleeping through her baptism and visits! What a cute tablescape, Debbie, and the outdoor fall mums, pumpkins and your new totem look magazine worthy. It's hard to say what we'll remember 2020 for the most, but I would imagine it will be all the family events we did NOT get to participate in.

  2. Your adorb family is growing by leaps and bounds..That dress:):) We have my grandfatehrs..that was worn by my girls..the boys could wear it also..but no lol..Love all your decor..we have very similar trays.

  3. Beautiful baby! Isn't being a grandparent the BEST?!

  4. Grandchildren are such a joy. X is getting so tall! Have a spooky Halloween!!

  5. Your Fall displays both inside and out are so festive. I always loved seeing pics of the grands. The baptismal dress is absolutely stunning and will be treasured item to pass down. The church was looking so beautiful, too. My own baptismal gown has been worn by some of my grandchildren. I know how yum the apple crisp is!
Happy Halloween week, my friend. 🎃👻🍁

  6. What a beautiful Baptismal dress, you are blessed with 3 beautiful grands! You will really create a bond with Claire keeping her once a week! I am crazy over your pumpkin and mum display, and love the wonderful colors. Have fun dressing up, all your Halloween vignettes are adorable!

  7. So many wonderful things going on with you Deb. I'm so glad you are able to enjoy these events and still play it safe. Your darling granddaughter Claire was so adorable and Xavier is his costume so cute and Quinn is such a cutie. Everyone had to cancel plans so I'm happy you will have your party next year. Have fun with those costumes for Halloween!

  8. What beautiful pumpkins and mums!! I didn't buy and real pumpkins but Dane and I painted some craft pumpkins when he was here last weekend...I shared them on IG. How wonderful that you're going to be able to watch little Claire once a week. We did that with Mack when he was a baby. ♥ Special times!

I'm so happy you decided to stop by my blog. Please leave a comment as I enjoy hearing from each and every one of you!
