Retirement is suiting me well but I can't say I am getting any more done than when I worked. But I love it, love it! I am enjoying time in my garden this year, and moved the iris plants last fall to a different area. They are done blooming but I am late to post this. They seem to like their new home. Did you know that the meaning of the Greek word iris means rainbow?
The plant of iris is named after the goddess 'Iris" because of its beauty and because of the varied colors in the flowers of this genus. In Greek legends and mythology, the goddess 'Iris' was the messenger who traveled on the rainbow between the lands of Human being and the Gods. The flower of iris implies a message and a promise of hope. The meaning of this flower is often associated with valor and wisdom. .jpg)

I took these photos in the morning after a nice rainfall. Here we have beautiful Edith's Darling and Arctic Blue roses. The middle plant (blue) is Hyssop which never disappoints.
A friend gave me all her canning jars about 10 years ago when she moved and quit canning so I decided to start canning (I know many of you have been canning for years and years) and the strawberry jam makes a nice gift for family.
What have you been up to? I love being home with my family visiting or at my camp during the summer. Traveling will have to wait until I have the desire again.

Your flowers are outstanding, Debbie!! I know you’re enjoying retirement. I’ve always canned my own jams, and Rich and I used to can greens, tomato sauce and applesauce when we lived in Ohio.
