Sfingi and Zeppole di San Giuseppe...AND WE HAVE A WINNER!

I'm popping in quick to announce the winner of the Mackenzie Childs "Go To Tote", but first I have to tell you about Sfingi and Zeppole di San Giuseppe that our Italian pastry shops are currently making for this season and for the upcoming Feast of San Giuseppe (Joseph) on March 19.

Zeppole have vanilla custard filling and sfingi are filled with ricotta, which is the same filling used for cannoli. It's a very unique pastry, it's fried, but it's also a very unique dough.

We have a historical Italian colony where immigrants from various places in Southern Italy came to create new lives for their families. The Zeppole and Sfingi are from the Italian bakeries in Utica, NY.  If you live anywhere near an Italian bakery, get an espresso and buy some Sfingi and Zeppole!! Joe and I had these pastries for lunch today, with an espresso of course.

The lucky winner of the Go To Tote giveaway is:

Nana Diana

I know she will LOVE it!! Congratulations Diana!

I wish I had a tote for each of the sweet comments I received on my Key West Traveling Tote post. We will be having another Mackenzie-Childs giveaway on June 1.

  1. Congratulations to Diana!!! She will certainly love the tote.
You and Joe had a yummy treat! I need to make some cream puffs in honor of St. Joseph as I don’t live near an Italian bakery.
    Happy weekend, Deb! ❤️

  2. Thank you for the reminder. My dad will have is heavenly birthday on March 19th, would have turned 98. His middle name was Giuseppe (Joseph) and my son’s middle name is also Giuseppe. My teenage daughter made these last year and they were delicious.
