Welcome to the Summer edition of the Tales of the Traveling Tote. This busy edition of the Tales of the Traveling Tote has taken me to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Ocean City Maryland, Cape May New Jersey, Thomas Dambo Trolls, Cooperstown and California.
Miss Aurora enjoyed her lunch at the world’s pinkest hotel 💖🏩 The Madonna Inn was decorated with butterflies in August when we were there. Madonna Inn is located in San Luis Obispo and we were there right after Dolly Parton passed away. Dolly was a regular visitor and always sat in the gold booth and had the pink champagne cake. What a fun place!
I traveled with my Scoots group of friends in July, and Miss Aurora "hung" out at our Airbnb "Hang Ten" in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
We enjoyed our first day walking on the beach until we got a surprising soaking
On Day 3, we went to Cape May on the ferry to do some sightseeing.

We walked the Ocean City boardwalk and discovered this sandy masterpiece that is a religious tribute sculpted by artist Randy Hofman. Apparently, he has been creating these masterpieces for many years.

Back in New York, we visited the Thomas Dambo trolls in Tupper Lake and met Thomas at a special event. Save the Humans features six activist Trolls that have come to teach humans how to rediscover nature and inspire humans to be good stewards of the earth.
Are you familiar with the Thomas Dambo trolls? I didn't know much about his until I saw the trolls in Boothbay, Maine and then found out that New York was getting them.

August was a busy, fun month for me and I celebrated my birthday with friends at my favorite restaurant in Cooperstown. 
We also went to California to visit Joe's sister and her family. After a few days in Woodland Hills where they live, we headed north for adventures in Napa Valley. It was a fun 1,100 mile trip making memories in beautiful California. Some of the stops we made along the way were to visit Huntington Library gardens, the Napa Valley wine train, Monterey Aquarium, 17 mile drive on the coast near Pebble Beach, Hearst Castle, Elephant Seal rookery in San Simeon, Cambria and Moonstone Beach and Solvang where they make the yummy Ebelskiver. We drove through several agricultural areas, and I will always appreciate the farmers when I buy produce from California.

Wow Debbie, you certainly did have a great summer with all your travels! What a busy time you’ve had with friends and family. No, I didn’t know about the Trolls. The sand art was amazing and that pink restaurant that Dolly loved, was so a sight to behold. I’m so happy that you have such a full and happy life! ❤️

ReplyDeleteOh I wish I had been along with you on each adventure! What a summer. I would just love going to Madonna Inn. So pretty and looks delicious too. I love that Dolly went there and had their pink cake when she visited.
