Traditional clambakes are an event - they take all day and require digging a sand pit, but this version is a lot less work and still VERY good.

1)  Choose a secluded spot in the backyard.

(I opted for a seaside tablescape on the deck)

2)  Fill up a tub with ice to keep beverages cold.

3) Start prepping the packets of lobster, steamers and corn for the grill.

Here are the instructions (this will serve two people):

6 small red potatoes, quartered
1/2 medium onion, cut into wedges
2 corn on the cob (I used frozen)
2 lobster tails
12 steamer clams
fresh thyme sprigs

Divide between two aluminum foil packets. (I doubled the foil)

Mix 2 Tablespoons of butter, 2 cloves minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning. Spoon this mixture on each foil packet. Pinch foil together at top, and place on hot grill.

Cook until done, usually between 15-20 minutes.

Garnish with lemon wedges and parsley.

I hope you'll give this a try if you enjoy seafood. I am joining Stonegable for Tutorials, Tips and Tidbits, AND there is a beautiful giveaway being offered on her blog.
