March is Maple Sugar Month

My love of maple syrup started as a child. My parents would treat us to maple sugar candy in our Easter baskets, and in the summer they would treat us to maple walnut ice cream at an ice cream parlor. Every March, I start pulling out favorite recipes and we have a favorite roasted chicken with maple-sage brine going on the menu this week.

I was delighted to find a biscotti recipe from Costco Connection Magazine several years ago. It's a winning recipe that we make to have on hand, and use our ample supply of maple syrup we receive as gifts.
February is flying by, and soon we will be "springing ahead". We may need an umbrella from time to time, but probably not until we have the "March snowstorm".
Joe and I went to the most fabulous baby shower EVER on Saturday. More on that in the March 1st Traveling Tote post.

  5. Debbie, this looks so tasty. Wishing I had one with my morning coffee. I see you got those cute boots. I love mine! And as for an umbrella, I've needed it of late. No snow, but freezing temps to return tomorrow. I'm ready to do my spring planting! We have family coming in for my niece's wedding in less than two weeks. I'd like things to look welcoming.
Eager to see your shares on the shower of the year. It all looked to be over the top festivities. What lucky little twin boys to be born into a home full of love and delightful whimsy.

  6. Sugar maple is WV's state tree. I don't know why, but I never acquired a taste for it, but Mr. P. LOVES it.
