I'm making up for lost time, and realized I never blogged about a favorite easy dinner. I hate referencing the pandemic in my blog posts, but this crazy time has me catching up on filing, blogging, reducing clutter and reconnecting with inventory in my home that I forgot about. Eva's Spaghetti Sauce was shared with me by one of my best friends when her mother Eva passed away. Donna grew up on this recipe, as it was a fairly inexpensive way to feed a family 50 years ago. Donna and I share a passion for cooking (she only uses organic and local grass fed meat), and quite a few of our text messages are inspired by what we have cooked that day.
I took a photo of the recipe for Eva's spaghetti sauce for you. I printed out these recipe cards one Christmas, and gave our children a food basket for Christmas with all the ingredients to make this meal. If you try it, I'd love to hear if it becomes one of your favorites too. Even Joe gets excited when I tell him I'm making Eva's sauce. It's a comfort food, and he loves Donna as much as I do.

That was a great Christmas idea! I love tried and trues:)
ReplyDeleteLooks good, however I don't think i have ever used a recipe for making sauce - I always just 'wing it' lol. I add a little sugar to cut the acidity, too. I always say that I must have some Italian in me as I could live on pasta and sauce, however my DNA results disagreed!!
ReplyDeleteDeb, what a thoughtful Christmas gift for your kids. Love this idea! Your dish looks so festive in its pretty dish!!! 😍😍😍
ReplyDeleteSuch a good recipe Deb, similar to the one I made often with a young family. Love your presentation........
ReplyDeleteA lot of the same things happening here that you are doing. Staying home and staying busy. Stay safe......
It looks great, Thank you for sharing. Great idea printing it out and for giving gifts.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of the gift basket with all the ingredients for making the sauce, Debbie. Using recipes of people we love, always brings back cherished memories of them. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThanks for this recipe! I love trying different recipes, especially if it's an easy one. ;)
ReplyDeleteHope this isn't a duplicate as it didn't look like my comment was accepted. I usually go the simple route and use Rao's sauce from Costco but am looking forward to trying this much loved recipe! Thank you for sharing the recipe, Debbie!
