This and That #4

Well here we are enjoying the magic of the holiday season, trying to make the holidays special for our loved ones. Our three year old grandson Quinn FaceTimes with us each evening from their home in Albany, and he wants a tour of the house each time he calls. He spotted these cookies I made for the four littles, and we'll see Quinn and his family on December 18th. Boy is he ever excited about Santa this year.  

Some of you may recall the amazing hardware store we have near our camp, and since they get a lot of tourists, they always have a place set up to take holiday photographs. 

Here is one of our Christmas trees that was fun to decorate. Most of the ornaments on this tree came from the Dollar Tree this year, and a few from Walmart. Each year I enjoy doing one themed tree, and the other trees are traditional with collectible ornaments on it.  

Sipping hot cocoa our living room was fun. 

We travelled four hours to a funeral in Rouses Point, NY but it was also a celebration of Ted's life as he was 66 and was not supposed to live beyond one year of age. A miracle!! Our dear friends appreciated our support. We knew there was a lovely B & B we could stay at, and we lucked out that they had two rooms left and it was decorated beautifully for Christmas. They served broiled pink grapefruit with maple crystals one morning, and they were a big hit.  

We got a group of friends together and went Christmas caroling. So joyful, and we were very well received. You have to pick your houses carefully :-) We went around dinner time, and could see children through the windows so we stopped. We also went to a few of our friend's houses and surprised them.  

My friend Bobbie served peppermint martinis after we returned from Christmas caroling. 

I just love this sweet owl ornament sent to me to inspire me to make some felt owls for my tree. Thank you Monique! 

A photo that I took of an owl on our hike. Joe always asks me how I spot them, and I tell him to just look up. They are pretty easy to spot when the leaves are off the trees.
