I've been dabbling in the Christmas holiday (still need to make my Almond Paste cookies), and handmade and homemade gifts are always my favorites.
I made Scotty dog heating pads after seeing them on this blog Crafts a la ModeI and I decorated wine bottles and a six pack of root beer bottles after visiting Susan at Hen and Horse Design.
It was that time of year to clean out the downstairs freezer and make room for local meat to last us through the winter. I froze some beautiful Pennsylvania peaches in August so made a peach pie.. Peach cobbler is my favorite peach dessert, but this time I made a pie.
The last of the cherry tomatoes were picked on November 17. They have ripened since I took this photo, and I slow roasted the tomatoes with olive oil, a little sugar, garlic, basil and salt. Once done, I made a sauce for pasta. Oh la la
Our granddaughter Claire can finally climb stairs, and she wanted to hop up on our bed. All the grandchildren love to sit and jump on our bed, but Claire kept laying her head on the bed since it is so fuzzy and soft. I just had to take her picture.
Xavier has been busy receiving packages from the UPS man. Tis the Season, and he said a LOT of packages have arrived. LOL
We are so thankful for this gorgeous turkey., and are so lucky to live in an area where there isn't a shortage of Christmas trees and maple syrup.

EDIT: Joy did not contact me, and did not leave an email address. I picked a new winner.
The winner of the beautiful Highbanks Travel Mug is Kitty @ Kitty's Cozy Kitchen.
Kitty, please email me with your mailing address. Congratulations!!
Amongst the Christmas shopping, we do make time to hike. A drive to Chimney Bluffs State Park takes us a little under two hours.. Aren't the spires so interesting? I'd like to go back next Fall and visit the apple orchards and wineries.
Happy Trails, Stay Safe.
Deb

ReplyDeleteI can't believe you were still picking tomatoes on November 17! I put my garden to bed at the end of October and saved all the green tomatoes and put them in a box in our garage. Many have ripened nicely but some had to be thrown out. Claire and Xavier ♥ It will be a fun Christmas for you!!
