It's the most wonderful time of the year. Recently I was at my camp and a snow band came through. It lasted four hours and dropped ten inches of snow. It sure was pretty so I snapped a photo.
I enjoy cooking in the Fall and Winter, and we enjoyed this butternut squash lasagna
This photo is from Winterthur Museum and Garden in Philadelphia. The members dry flowers from the garden and decorate a Christmas tree. I think it is lovely, and my garden friends and I are considering doing something similar to put on display at our new hospital that is being built. We haven't contacted the hospital folks yet but hope it works out.
My friend likes to challenge herself and made a Turkey cake for Thanksgiving. She nailed it, and I don't think I will even try. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.
We started our Christmas shopping a few weeks ago, and now comes the wrapping and decorating. I'm taking the weekend off and eating Thanksgiving leftovers.
My sister and I decorated our family camp the day before the snowstorm hit. She retired from Verizon, and is used to climbing ladders and very safety conscious. This was all her idea :-)
Traditions touch us, they connect us, and expand us. Life changes...familes and friends grow apart to create thier own traditions. Do your best to keep traditions alive because memories although invisible will always be felt in your heart.

ReplyDeleteThank you Rita! My sister got a nice retirement incentive from Verizon so she retired. It was physically demanding on her body as she approached 60 :-) She turned 60 on 11/22/22, and has been retired for two years.

I am having a difficult time getting my grandchildren to come for gatherings for our family. If they come they have a good time.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a wonderful family. This was the first year with out Jerry and we honored him and then went on. There is an old Indian saying that says "Grieve, and after a time move on". That's not easy, but we knew we had to.
