I hope this finds you well. Did you have a nice weekend? There was a lot of hype about a Nor'easter hitting New York, so I wanted to be well prepared. Sweetheart Cookies are a family favorite. My mom made them when we were growing up, and I started making them in the 80's for my family.
Being in the St. Patrick's day mood, I've been enjoying the Irish festivities. It snows here for most every St. Patrick's parade but that doesn't stop us from attending. I have attended our parade for at least 35 years, and starting going with my toddler and my parents when I was in my 20's.

An acquaintence of mine is running for mayor.
We enjoyed Irish Apple Raisin Scones from Kitty's Kozy Kitchen
I serve them warm, they are easy to reheat in the oven. I wrapped them in foil.

A few random photos that I took recently. Soon we will see more birds arriving from their winter homes, and that is my favorite part of spring.
I took this photo on 3/14/23 when New York was hit by a Nor'Easter. It provided us with great ski conditions.
The NY Times shared this recipe for Baked Lemon Pudding so I decided to make it. What I discovered is that the recipe is in my old Betty Crocker cookbook. It's very yummy, and the mini ramekins are the perfect size to serve to the gals when we get together.
March came in like a Lion (and will probably leave like a Lion), and I'm so grateful that we have started to turn the corner on dark winter weather. I don't mind the snow at all, it's the dark weather that makes me unmotivated in the early morning and evening. As
George Eastman once said…."Light makes photography. Embrace light, Admire
it. Love it. But above all know light. Know it for all you are worth, and then
you will know the key to photography."
I was a trial juror for a week, and it was a brutal but interesting case. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, and am glad I was chosen.
Take care....April flowers are on the way. Look at this 80 year woman from Brooklyn...finding her joy in her authentic self.
