This and That - End of March.....Let's see what April brings

I hope this finds you well. Did you have a nice weekend? My Lenten Rose is always first to bloom and has been blooming since the beginning of March. I've been working on a kitchen project, and April finds me preparing Easter treats. This Simple bunny gift wrap idea is fun and easy, and you can fill them with Easter grass, plastic eggs, candy, gift cards, etc.

I had leftover sour cream and our market was offering free overripe bananas so I googled and found this recipe which is very good Melt in your mouth banana bread

We had some excitement recently. In our area, a number of photographers captured the beauty of Mother Nature lighting up the night sky. The best time to view the Northern lights is normally within an hour or two of midnight. So, sometime between 10 PM and 2 AM. The aurora’s colorful green, red, and purple light shifts gently and often changes shape like softly blowing curtains. We are told this may happen again on Thursday, 3/30/23 here in New York.
The Mohawk Valley (where I live) has some of the finest countryside that New York has to offer. I get to look around when Joe is the driver, and then politely ask (beg) him to pull over so I can take a photo. I love red barns in the winter especially. I have a "barn" photo file on my computer, and never run out of barns to photograph.

I should clarify that the snow you are seeing is in the upper elevations and in the wooded areas. We don't have any snow at our house. We did have a little campfire on the first day of spring.

Spring 2023.

I am looking forward....

  4. Amazing northern lights photo! It will be a while before my hellbores flower. I'm sure they're poking out of the ground but I have to wait for the last snow to melt before I can inspect! Love the bunny bags!
