Happy May! I hope this finds you well. Did you have a nice weekend? We went to Geneseo, NY to see the Bluebells blooming their little hearts out. We hiked four miles on private land, and were treated to acres of bluebells.
"In the woods the bluebells seem
Like a blue and magic dream,
Blue water, light and air
Flow among them there."
~ Eleanor Farjeon
I have never seen so many bluebells all in one place. The land is protected. Thank you to @GeneseeValleyConservancy #GeneseeValley for the opportunity to see the beautiful bluebells today. Perfect temperatures for the 4 mile hike, and a quick stop at Montezuma to see the wildlife on our way home.
One of activities in early Spring is to visit the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge (near the Finger Lakes) to watch all the bird activitty during breeding season. There is a viewing platform at the Eagle statue which we like to use.
Need a Kentucky Derby Hat stirring straw for your get together? I found the cutest idea on my friend Jenna's blog The Painted Apron. This is my third Kentucky Derby party, and we keep it simple. The same menu as last year! Different people :-)
On Friday, the lovely tulip field opened for picking tulips. I can only imagine how beautiful the tulip fields are in Holland.
We're expecting some rain and cloudy skies for the week. That should keep some of the flowers from blooming too early. Everything is ahead of schedule here.
