I hope you like the color "white". It goes with everything!
Welcome to the Winter edition of the Tales of the Traveling Tote. This edition of the Tales of the Traveling Tote has taken me to New York City, and Miss Aurora has her flip flops packed for Key West in February. I hope we get an early spring in March as our winter started in November.
After all these years, we went to see the longest running musical on Broadway.
CHICAGO was amazing!!
We started our day in the city at 9:30 a.m. and the first stop was the beautiful Library that ended up being packed with people so we left so we headed to St. Patrick's Cathedral and Lotte Plaza which was wonderful at that hour. Then we headed to Joe's sister's house where she prepared a delicious shrimp scampi lunch for us. She makes the best garlic bread and Joe learned from her over 30 years ago and he makes it for just about every family gathering.
I love going to St. Patrick's Cathedral. Did you know that you can listen to the daily mass from St. Patrick's Cathedral on Sirius XM? Cardinal Dolan made me laugh when he said he was happy to see the line to enter the church was longer than the line to get into the Lego store in NYC.

Hi Katherine,
DeleteThank you for stopping by my blog! I'm happy to share the way my hubby makes garlic bread (that he learned from his sister).
They use a good quality baguette, and slice it into 3/4" pieces.
In a small pan, add one stick of butter and three cloves of garlic sliced. Saute until golden.
Dip slices of bread in the butter/garlic mixture. Discard the garlic chunks or save for another recipe.
Place the bread slices on a cookie sheet, and put in oven and broil until the tops are golden brown.
They are so yummy!!!
The December foray into NYC looked fabulous with all the seasonal decorations. Chicago is an absolute favorite Broadway show of mine. I've seen a traveling Broadway production numerous times, and our Light Opera Guild even produced it several years ago. My oldest was in the production. :) Love your jammies! I'm like you, hoping we have an early spring. With all the snow we had in December, that would be enough for me to call it winter '25-'26. Pack those bags and enjoy the sunshine and warmth of Key West!
ReplyDeleteDeb, you and Joe always seems to experience many adventures. The snow is fabulous. How fun to see Chicago. It looks pretty amazing, plus the building itself.i cannot believe how tall that Christmas tree is. St. Patrick's Cathedral is so gorgeous, love the architecture. Joe’s surprise Jammie’s are so cute and you look fabulous in them. Happy January.

The other NY photos make me yearn for a trip. Love that city! Kudos to Joe for surprising you with the jammies. I regret not getting a pair. They do look comfy! All the best in 2026 and happy planning and anticipation to your spring get away to the beach.
